Scott Miller

Scott Miller of Minneapolis, Minnesota, is the leader of team “Missouri River Speed Record”. In 2023, he led team “Mississippi Speed Record” (with teammates Wally Werderich, Paul Cox and Judd Steinbeck) in setting the Guinness World Record for paddling the entire 2,350 mile length of the Mississippi River. Their time was 16 days 20 hours and 16 minutes. He has paddled over 10,000 miles in his life. Scott works as a Registered Nurse at the University of Minnesota Medical Center and as a massage therapist. He lives with his wife Heidi and cats Tuxie and Cirrus just a few blocks from the Mississippi River in south Minneapolis. He is the founder of Fastest Known Paddle (FKP), a website that tracks the fastest times down various paddling routes throughout North America. He and Scott Duffus hold the FKP for the Minnesota River. He is the founder and race director, along with Todd Foster of the Minnesota Paddling Opener on the Mississippi River which consists of races and tours from 5 to 145 miles just north of the Twin Cities (held the 2nd weekend in June). Scott is proud to be an Eagle Scout alongside his three Eagle Scout teammates.
